2022 saw the celebration of the  25 year anniversary of the WRDA.

Covid was brutal to Rugby in Victoria but particularly Women’s and Girls Rugby.

The girls competition which was just getting started needed completely re booting and many of our players moved overseas, interstate or retired.

The need to advertise the existence and value of the WRDA was vital and we were very proud to host a lunch in August for 130 people where we raised over $14000 to be spent on grassroots Women’s and Girls rugby.

So far that money has gone towards a new Website and also making a significant contribution to Rugby Victoria towards the costs of the Jerseys for the inaugural Sile Etuale Cup for Youth Girls.

As we enter the Golden Decade of Rugby in Australia culminating in the 2029 Women’s World Cup never has there been a greater need AND a greater opportunity to support one of the fastest growing Women’s sports in the world.
